Jackson Rice will compete in his final race of the year this weekend in the Trico Trans Am Series at the VAILO Adelaide 500.

The Trico Trans Am Series will feature as a support category to the Repco Supercars Championship, with the event set to bring record crowd numbers.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to Adelaide Parklands for this weekend’s event,” said Rice.

“As many of you know, I work on cars for a living and visit a lot of tracks; but I haven’t been lucky enough to race here as yet and so, I’m super pumped to be hitting the track this weekend. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

“It’s also really cool to be featuring as a support category to the Supercars. The atmosphere is going to be awesome, and I can’t wait to get there.”

Rice is coming off his debut in the Dunlop Series at Bathurst last month and has been busy preparing for his final race of the season in the Trans Am Series.

“I’ve been going over a lot of data and footage with Glenn Seton, who has been very instrumental in helping us this year, both through set up in data and mechanically, but also through driving and mentality. His son Aaron has also been helping – which has been really cool and is something that will be pivotal for this weekend,” said Rice.

“We’ve also managed to do some testing at Winton and threw some new stuff at the car and I feel very confident in the car and the way it’s progressing – so hopefully we can have a good weekend.”

The Trico Trans Am Series will kick off on Thursday with one practice session, followed by an action-packed day on Friday with a practice, qualifying session and a 20-minute race. Saturday and Sunday will both feature a 25-minute race.

The Adelaide street-circuit is quite a technical track, Rice outlines the key points of the street circuit:

“It’s a very fast flowing track, 1-2 chicane is a very fast part of the track. You must make sure you nail those curbs, otherwise the car can end up quite upset and it’s quite easy to find a fence on the exit of turn 3,” explains Rice.

“The last part of the complex then goes into turns 6 and 7 and onto the back straight. From there you head into turn 8, which is notorious for catching people out. So, we’ll have to be mindful especially with our cars being left hand drive, we’re further away from the apex and the line of sight.

“Plenty of action to happen around this circuit. The weather is going to be awesome. I just can’t wait to sink my teeth in and get in behind the wheel!

“A big thank you to all of my sponsors for your support. It means a lot, and I wouldn’t be here without you all. Hopefully we can finish the weekend off on a high.”
